Passover

When he used to host the Academy Awards every year, Bob Hope's would joke that this was the season known around his house as Passover. But I can't complain. Bad Animals is on the long list for the B.C. National Award for Canadian Non-fiction. Turns out it's nice to almost be nominated too. The news for the short list is out on December 5th. The prize is 40 grand. Oh My!

Enjoyed my time in Edmonton last month at the LitFest. Nice to see colleagues and friends like Charlie Foran, Merrily Weisbord, Marni Jackson and thrilled to meet the inimitable Stevie Cameron.

Bad Animals: A Father’s Accidental Education in Autism

badanimalsJoel Yanofsky tried for years to start this memoir. "It's not just going to be about autism," he told his wife, Cynthia. "It's going to be about parenthood and marriage, about hope and despair, and storytelling, too."
